From the Observatory for the Sustainability of the Social Action (BEARS) Fundación Hazloposible we have had the opportunity to participate recently in a executive session on sustainability organized by Full Inclusion Spain. A space for shared reflection, which, like the ideals of the Observatory seeks to analyze the current challenges and move toward organizational models more robust, responsible and sustainable in time.
During his intervention, the BEARS introduced main results and key latest study publishedfocused on the sustainability of the social action from the holistic view of talent, their attraction and loyalty. An encounter that served not only to share data, but also to generate dialogue, contrasting experiences and to share the concerns that cross many organisations in the sector.
Sustainability, grounded in key human
One of the central axes of the presentation was the need of broaden the perspective on sustainability. From the THINGS we insist that talk of sustainability in the Third Sector of Social Action involves addressing dimensions of organizational, human and social, not to mention the financial.
The capacity of the institutions to maintain their long-term impact is closely linked to the care of peoplethe stability of the equipment, the quality of the internal processes and coherence with the values that they promote. The presented study highlights that many organizations are making significant efforts to adapt to a context that is increasingly complex, marked by uncertainty, the overload of demands and the difficulty to attract and retain talent.
However, it has also been shown that these challenges cannot be addressed solely from point solutions, but require strategies cross-sectional and sustained in time. Place people at the centre, giving them an active participation, planning strategies, and promote the organizational culture, or deal with the generational change, knowing that the young people can be great inspiring change through investments like this will emphasize the wills of countless entities by changes of depth, and focused on the future
A space for dialogue and shared learning
The session with Full Inclusion was also an opportunity for listen to experts in the fieldknow their realities and to share learnings. The exchange of experiences revealed that many of the challenges are common, but also that there are good practices you can inspire other organizations in the sector.
From the THINGS we value especially this kind of spaces that strengthen the work in the network and contribute to building a shared vision of sustainability in action social. The study of the Observatory is born with the vocation: to provide evidence, generate reflection and support to the entities in the strategic decision-making.
Move forward together towards a social action more sustainable
The participation of the BEARS in this session reinforces our commitment to the generation of useful knowledge and applied for the Third Sector of Social Action. We firmly believe that moving towards organizations more sustainable is a collective task, which requires dialogue, analysis, and a willingness to change. We will continue to work with networks to promote spaces of reflection and action that strengthen the present and the future of social action, always with the people at the center and with sustainability as a shared horizon.
